Mui Ne is one road. The strip runs along the coast for roughly 10 to 20 km, with the sea on one side and resorts, kite schools and restaurants on the other; there is no town centre in the usual sense
Two things bring people here and neither is the beach itself: the sand dunes and the wind. The White Dunes and the Red Dunes sit within half an hour of the strip, and the same northeast trade winds that build them make this the best-known kitesurfing coast in Vietnam

Cultural highlights & etiquette
A resort strip and a village
attached, and with different rules. Swimwear is normal on the beach and out of place at the fish market
Russian is a working language
and Vietnamese staff on the strip often speak it better than English. Not knowing it costs nothing; being surprised by it is common
Child vendors rent sandboards
and the advice is to be clear and friendly rather than vague, because vagueness gets you followed

not a ruin park; the usual temple courtesies apply
Bargain for boards and quads

- Rent a scooter and do the dune circuit yourself if you can ride
- Go to the White Dunes at sunrise rather than sunset; the light is better and the quads are not there yet
- Carry small notes for the dune entry gates and parking

- Don't plan a week here, our sources' own verdict is that the highlights fit in a morning
- Don't ride without a licence and expect it to pass unnoticed on this strip
- Don't count on swimming off the main beach in the wind season; it fills with kites

The expressway cut the drive
Ho Chi Minh City is the gateway, and it is faster now. Sources written before it opened say five to six hours; current guidance says three to four
The train stops short
it does not reach Mui Ne. It stops at Phan Thiết or Bình Thuận and you finish by road
A scooter beats the jeep tour
and is cheaper and freer than the standard jeep tour
Kites and swimmers share water
a real hazard in season. Both our sources and our own data warn about swimming into the kite zone in season
