Tokyo, Japan
Direct flight from SFO to Tokyo Haneda airport. 12 hour layover, and super hot!!
Craziest toilets / bidets (temp, flow of water, dryer, flush). Erin left glasses
in bathroom. Erin left kindle on plane, they thought she said "candle." We
changed clothes, put our stuff in a locker and took the train into a nearby
town. The train system is bullshit -- very confusing. People here are very much
rule followers. They ride escalators singe-file, and always wait for the light
to turn green before crossing the street.
No services past security but we found out on our way back, this airport has
many floors and lots of services including direct access to a hotel where you
can get a room by the hour. One coffee shop.
On united flight from SFO, a bag almost fell on Erin. In Tokyo, bag fell down
the escalator on Erin, then on flight to Bangkok, bag leaking water in overhead,
older gentleman tried to stuff it in and close door.
Nippon air to Bangkok, cold food bags, flight attenants wore little hats and
stewardess suits, almost komono ish. Breakfast rice and fish hash type with
Eggs.
Bangkok, Thailand
Arrived in Bangkok Tuesday, 18 July 4:30 AM -- really easy to get through
security, 14 hours ahead of PST. Took a Grab to our hotel. Pho Place, in alley,
driver drove through very tight alley. food carts on either side. Edge of China
town, biggest China town in the world. shower, toilet, sink all one room, no
separation, one drain. All showers had on demand individual hot water heaters.
Washed our clothes but so humid, they wouldn't dry.
Golden temple across the street. Wat Trimit Witthayaram (largest solid gold
budha in the world). https://www.hotels.com/go/thailand/wat-traimit
