Day 1: Southern Higashiyama, Downtown & Fushimi
This day focuses on the historic Eastern side and the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine.
Morning (8:30 AM): Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Start early at this iconic temple, famous for its large wooden stage that offers panoramic views of the city.
Afterwards, wander the preserved historic streets of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, which are lined with traditional shops and teahouses.
Late Morning (11:00 AM): Explore Higashiyama
Continue north to Yasaka Shrine, located in Maruyama Park, and then proceed to Chion-in Temple and Shoren-in Temple, which are all within walking distance.

Afternoon (12:30 PM): Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)
Take a taxi or bus to Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), one of Kyoto's most famous sights, renowned for its two stories covered in gold leaf that reflect in a serene pond.

From Kinkaku-ji, you can take a short taxi ride to Daitoku-ji Temple, a large Zen complex known for its peaceful sub-temples and gardens.
