Ceylon Tea Museum + Hanthana tea country
The museum sits in the hills above Kandy and is housed in a former tea factory. It explains how the tea industry began near Kandy with pioneer planter James Taylor and gives a much deeper understanding of tea than simply walking through a plantation. The surrounding Hanthana hills are beautiful and peaceful. Tea historians consider the Kandy area the birthplace of Sri Lanka's tea industry.
