1. Landed in Hanoi, had already booked a taxi so very easy. Got to accomodation and went to 7/11 got a toastie obvs ad then was able to check in. Very tired as very little sleep. Went to get a banh mi 10/10, then a egg coffee and salt coffee (7/10 and 10/10). Walked about got come beers from 7/11 and went home for a nap. Then had the beers, HANOI BEER!! Then went out for a few more hanoi beers and sunflower seeds. The went to a bun cha resteraunt, had bun cha 10/10 for dinner. Then got a acertyx jacket (lol).
2. Had a 10 hour sleep (needed). Had yoghurt for breakfast then walked to the Prison. Did the audio guide and was super interesting. Then went and had pho ga for lunch (8/10). Walked around and got a salt coffee on. Rooftop (10/10) Tim’s had peanut butter which was also very good. Walked to train street and had beers and played cards and watched the train go past. Then walked home to get ready for our walking food tour. Hanoi bites (10/10). Harry the tour hide took us to get so much food. Tried like 8 things. Beef salad, rice pancake with egg and pork and mushroom, crab noodle broth, fertilised egg (actually wasn’t too bad), these fried mochi balls covered in honey and sugar, quamquat juice and sugar cane juice, pork skeeed, banana fritter, a noodle chicken broth with black broth, jelly and cream caramel dessert and coconut once feel with pandas rice and then to finish egg coffee.
3. Woke up, we had a banh mi and salt coffee for brekky and Tim got a pillow cake that I hated. Then went to the temple of the lake. Then walked to the Cathedral and went to get quamquat tea and the places had really cheap beer for 50p. Went back to ours and the guy said we didn’t need to leave until 4pm. At 4 we went at got pho and had a beer for dins and then went to the bus for Ha Giang, bus was good but barely slept. Got to Ha Giang out but an Awful place to stay, hard as a rock and stand like ciggies 😭

1. Woke up and taken to get a bang mi and a coffee and wait for your group. Terrible weather! Put in a group with 6 of us Holly and Euan (from Liverpool, 22 and 23) and Silas and Kira (21,19 from Garmany). Lap was our leader. Picked keys out of hat got Nhu, her husband was Tim driver. Went off and stopped at a few view points but weather was terrible. Couldn’t see much. Then went to a cave of the first day saw stuff there that was fun. Short driving day went to homestay. Had a few beers, did karaoke played some cards. Mot, Ha, Ba, Zu
2. Tim not well when work up. Had coffee and banana pancakes for breakfast then back on the bikes. Drove to a village and saw how they create textiles. Drove to more viewpoints and the weather had cleared up. Got myself a scarf to put around my mouth to stop from getting sick. Saw the big loop. Then stayed in a big town that evening however Tim was very sick and went home early no happy water for him.
3. Gorgeous day of driving went to the river and did a boat ride was very very nice. Lots of nice stops. Stayed in a village homestay for the last night, really nice view from room. Tight Silas to play farkle. Many beers and happy water and karaoke. Lap was drunk! Bumpy ride to the homestay.
4. Drive to the waterfall, Tim jumped in, super busy there though. Then drove all the way back to ha Giang, bumpy ride and a lot of bad roads. Saw a truck with logs turned over. Got back to Ha Giang and then got a bus to SApa (arrived at midnight)

Sapa Train, Vietnam
1. Rosie not well full of cold and also not pooped for 5 days. Had breakfast at place (terrible). Room was pretty and bed super soft though. Went to Moana viewpoint, basically a place with loads of Instagram spots. Ticket included a coffee so had a salt coffee, pretty place. Then walked around the town c Sapa is very pretty feels like a ski resort. Had a ginger and honey tea at a place called above the clouds and looked at the pretty views. Got a cheese and ham crossiant for lunch and went back for a nap and both tired and ill. Walked around lake and went for pho for dinner and was really good broth (9/10).
2. Woke up and walked to another virw point and had salt coffee. Cute swing there and a good view. Very cute dog!! Walked to cat cat village, very vibrant and crazy place. Went on Raimbow slide was very fun. Then went to try and see the train go by but it isn’t running atm. But got a custard cream oolong tea, super yum had banh mi for lunch and then walked to the alpine coaster. (Further then we thought). Alpine coaster was fun then got a grab home and chilled for a little bit. Then went for a few beers and pool and games. Met Euan and Holly for some games and walked to the night market. Had good pho, pancake and chestnut bun. Then had a mulled wine and played crack list.
3. Early morning bus to Hanoi. Grabbed a ham and cheese crossiant and hot choc for breakfast. Got to Hanoi and just chilled, got snacks and watched a film and then had pho for dinner. Early start the next day so early night.

Halong Bay, Vietnam
Actually went to Lan Ha Bay instead - early start and taken on bus and then ferry to Cat Ba. Really good day trip. Nice boat, went kayaking which was super pretty and cool. Then had lunch and then had time to swim. We both swam to a cute beach and then had a beer on the boat. They then to us to where a load of fish are kept to look after them. We per a fish. Some of the fish can be 450kg and there is a parasite that becomes their tongue. Finished the day making a spring roll on the boat. Journey back was really long and tiring. Had pho at a Michelin star place in Hanoi (Pho 10?) (9/10) they only do beef and have little fired breads.

1. Lots of rain today. Had bang mi and coffee for breakfast from a subway type place. Then first bus didn’t get us so had to book another one. TERRIBLE journey to tam coc. Super wet when we got there so just went and got some pizza to share and beers. As walking out Euan and Holly were getting on a bus 😅. Chilled that night and had bun cha.
2. Woke up and had the hotel breakfast (okay). Did the tam coc boat trip, was good but our man took so many photos! They tow with there feet. They you get on an electric buggy to the temple! Came back and hired bikes, then bumped in Euan and Hollu again on the bikes so all cycled together. Went to buffalo caves, ticket included a drink and to feed the ducks, fishing and seeing the car and buffalo! Really enjoyed that area. Then cycled together a little resteraunt that had lots of ducks, dogs and cats. The. Dogs were super cute. Had some fried chicken noodle and a beer. Cycled round longer and went to Hang Mua for sunset. It was SO busy and a lot of steps (500) gorgeous view but abit much with that many people so didn’t wait for sunset plus it was cloudy. Then went for changed, played some table tennis and we all went to Saffron and Indian for dinner and then got a taxi to old ancient town! Walked about very pretty with lanterns etc got an ice cream then went home.
3. Chilled day. Breakfast then walked around the town. Went and had a coffee and got some postcards. Tim got his hair done and I got my nails done. Walked to the river and played some farkle and had fried rice was very nice. Got a quamquat tea on the way back then chilled at our place. Holly messages to ask if we wanted a 7k draft beer. So taught them to play jib jab has some 7k draft beee then got ready for our night bus to Phong Nha. On a night bus that had 3 compartments SO small! 9pm-4am, got off at 3am though and then taxi to our place. Got there and it was chucking it down!

1. Checked in at 4am and slept until 9 then had breakfast, was friend eggs and bread and good coffee. Then did a 8km walk around in the rain. Came back and hired a scooter then went to duck spots 100,000 each to have a pancake (10/10 with a satay sauce) drink and feed the ducks (become a duck leader) - was very funny. Drove back after as weather was v bad. The drove to a place we had seen called “After”. Craft beer place all Vietnamese beers, very nice! Muse and was very good (10/10 beer). Had dinner and a hotel ish place that had a pizza and beer deal for 100,000. (100/10) Pizza was so so good and had some chips too, then went home and to bed as shattered!!

1. Day bus from Phong Nha to Hoi an, upgraded to nicer bus but left so late and took so long! Finally got to Hoi an, the host was super nice but slightly too chatty! Huge Ned in room. Once checking we walked to the old town and I had duck pho (10/10) food was so good - com linh! Tim had pork belly which was also really good. First taste of Larue beer. Then went to Marua and shared a tirimisua (8.5/10) lots of nice chocolate to taste too!
2. Woke up and went to Rosie’s cafe for breakfast - had a caramel iced matter and cap on toast, very good but got the ick! Also passion fruit juice! Then walked into town did lots of walking and drinking. Went to Uncle Huan for a coffee, incredible coffee arrt! Had some happy hour Prosecco. Had a delicious street banh mi. , then went to 7 bridges craft beer. Had a tasting paddle and did lots of farkle. All craft Vietnamese beer, the guava IPA 10/10. Then went and has some questionable red wine and white rose dumplings (6/10). Went to an alley places for finds and had com ga and ban xeo (pancakes) pretty good (7.5/10).
3. Woke up and cycled to Thoms sourdough, had toast and tom had sausage roll, very very tasty. Cycled to coffee making class, 10/10 experience made black drip coffee, white condensed milk coffee, egg coffee (came from the war when shortage of milk), salt coffee (came from hang salt water) and coconut coffee. Really informative and fun class. Cycled to the beach then has some co Kay and pho for lunch (7/10). Did the coconut boats and then Met Euan and Holly. Went to Mr bean cafe but was spenny and also to another sports one player some games. Walked around food market had 10/10 pork and cheese and also a chicken pancake pizza. Did the lateen boat which was cute and then tim had another co lau. Went to Marou again, had the chocolate cookie which was abit much as so full.
4. Woke up and chilled and walked to Thoms sourdough, both got an iced latte (the liquid sugar was so good) and also a full english (8.5/10). Did a lot of walking around and also got a Madam Khans Banh Mi, she’s the Queen of Banh mi was SO good (10/10) had chicken and BBQ. Then got a taxi to Da Nang.

1. Got to Danang, hotel is questionable (room absolutely fine) but not fun like it said or half the stuff it says! walked across the dragon bridge and then all the way round. Then felt very lazy and got a takeaways of fried chicken which was pretty bad. Watched holes and went to sleep.
2. Very wet when we woke up. Went and got coffee and Tim got a sandwich for brekky (1st day of Ps so feeling sick). Went back and chilled at the hotel and then headed out in the rain again. Found a bagel place (though ran out of bagels) and had some sandwiches, 9/10 very good. Got a taxi to the mall as chucking is down and walked around all the shops. Then got a taxi to Bread and Butter - bakery! So many things, all looked insane. Got the strawberry cheesecake crossiant and it was 10/10, Tim had a chocolate donut which was good and we got a lemon thing to share which was also good. Also got guava cold brew was good and wierd. Did a little walk across the beach front but then started to rain so got a taxi back to hotel then to the night bus.
