TO SKI:
1. Coronet Peak
Distance: ~20–25 min drive from Queenstown.
Highlights: Queenstown’s closest and most accessible ski field, great for all levels from beginners to advanced. Offers extensive terrain and excellent facilities, plus night skiing on selected evenings.
2. The Remarkables
Distance: ~40–45 min from Queenstown.
Highlights: Alpine terrain with terrain parks and bowls, good for beginners and intermediate riders — and stunning scenery.
3. Cardrona Alpine Resort
Distance: ~60 min from Queenstown (between Queenstown and Wanaka).
Highlights: Large resort great for families and beginners, with wide runs and excellent ski school facilities. Also popular with intermediate and freestyle riders due to varied terrain.
4. Treble Cone
Distance: ~90 min from Queenstown (near Wānaka).
Highlights: NZ’s largest ski area in the South Island with long runs, epic views and great intermediate/advanced terrain — less crowded than some other fields.
