Arrived at airport and waited to collect checked luggage. Ordered an Uber which was instantly picked up by Harsha who was super friendly and chatted to me throughout the drive. I sat in the front with Harsha who was a very safe driver. I commented on the beautiful tropic trees and Harsha told me to just wait until I got to the countryside. He told me it was Sri Lanka New Year’s on the 13th and 14th April, and I would see the traditional celebrations more in the countryside. He told me to try mangos as it’s currently their season and also the orange coconuts (King Coconut) whilst over here as it was Native to Sri Lanka and naturally very sweet and brings you a lot of energy. Harsha told me Colombo is very safe to walk around at night. He told me no-one touches the tourists and there is lots of police around. Harsha said Sri Lankan countryside is the best as it was still very preserved and lacked some technology. Harsha gave me tips on what apps to use for transportation, and also told me I would struggle in the countryside without cash. Harsha dropped me off at my location. Struggled to find it initially and a couple of men attempted to help me navigated based on pictures supplied before a young man on a bike pulled over to have a look and also attempt to help me. Then an older man called out my name and asked me to follow him to the accommodation. He told me he was Feroza’s husband and took me to meet her. She welcomed me and gave me my set of keys. The accommodation was set up like an apartment to the house l, I had the whole upstairs which consisted of the bedroom, a hallway, bathroom and a separate smoking area. The place was clean, spacious and supplied with amenities. NBottled
