covering 1,200 square kilometers. Temples are still being built in Bagan today,

adventure. Mount Popa is an active volcano that still sees human sacrifices. The
hike is long, but hiking to Popa’s peak will make your efforts worthwhile with
some unforgettable views. If you want to get away from it all while also having
some exotic religious culture at your fingertips, Popa may be worth planning
into your itinerary!

Kalaw, Myanmar (Burma)
Located at an altitude of 3,560 feet, Kalaw is a charming village where you can
spend time getting to know a different side of modern Myanmar. With trekking and
waterfalls nearby, it’s no wonder why many people visit Kalaw as part of their
tour through northern Burma. After dinner in town on your first night, head to
some popular bars and nightclubs just outside of town.

Inle Lake, Myanmar (Burma)
This is one of those must-see places, so it’s best to rent a car and drive
around yourself. Inle Lake is a stunning body of water on which locals have
built floating gardens, colorful homes, and wooden fishing boats. A stay in Inle
will give you ample time to do as much or as little as you want—you can fish
