Auckland, New Zealand
Day 1 (6th Jan):
-Arrived into Auckland at 2pm
-Took the city link bus into Auckland city and checked into my first ever hostel Lylo (so nice for a hostel)
-Went and got a Subway for lunch (which was just down the road from the hostel) and then walked to the Sky Tower to see where I was jumping from tomorrow (probably a bad idea haha)
-Went back to the room and met two lovely girls (one from Australia and one from Germany). We all went to Elliot Stables food hall and got a Greek pitta which was delicious. Then we had a drink in the bar called Lucy’s in hostel and had an early night as it had been a long travelling day.
Day 2 (7th Jan):
-Woke up early with jet lag and then went down to ‘Lucy’s’ in the hostel for a buddah bowl for breakfast
-Today was the day I was jumping off the Auckland Sky Tower so I headed down there for 11am and my jump was at 11.30am. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done, such an adrenaline rush!!! Wish I could of done it again (if I had the budget)
-After the jump I was on a high, so went down to Viaduct harbour and treated myself to a wine and some fish tacos at ‘Frida Cocina Mexicana & Tequila bar’ which were delicious
-Later on I went back to the hostel and went and got tea with some of the girls in my room at ‘Lucy’s’ again haha and had one drink and called it a night
Day 3 (8th Jan):
-I woke up and went down to ‘Lucy’s’ for another buddah bowl as they were so good and not badly priced, this time I also got an iced coffee. Then me and a girl from Adelaide hiked to and up ‘Mount Eden’ which was lovely- it had great views of the city.
-In the afternoon, we had a stroll around the city and went to the cinema to watch ‘House Maid’ which was such a good film then headed back to the hostel and had another early night
Day 4 (9th Jan):
-Today I woke up early and headed to the supermarket to get some breakfast, I bought some yoghurt and a cereal bar then today I was getting the ferry over to ‘Waiheke Island’ to spend a day exploring the island and visiting some winearys. I went to:
-Cable Bay
-Batch
-Stoney Ridge
-Mudbrick
They were all unreal and all so different and unique. After a very busy day with a lot of wine, I went and had an early night as I was starting the Kiwi experience hop on and hop off buses tomorrow (which I was very excited about).
