"X80" Bus, departing from Piraeus Port's cruise terminal areas, is climate controlled and clean. It stops at "Akropolis" for visiting the famed Akropolis. It's last stop is "Syntagma Square" for visiting "Plaka" shopping district and Athens downtown attractions. The fare for X80 bus ride is extremely attractive, because "24 hour Ticket" for € 4.50 includes unlimited rides of metros, local buses and X80 Bus throughout Athens and Piraeus during the 24 hour period.
X80 Bus stops are right outside Piraeus Cruise Terminals B (Princess Cruise ships), Terminal C (Cunard Cruise ships), and Terminal A (Holland America ships). For instance, the X80 bus stop outside Terminal B for Princess Cruise ships is right after taxis/limos stands. Next to the X80 Bus Stop post is the ticket booth, where you can buy "24 hour Ticket" for € 4.50 in cash or with a major credit card. Then, board the bus, and validate your ticket at the validation box on the bus. After you validate your ticket for your first use, you don't need to validate it again for your return trip as well as any other side trips in Piraeus and Athens via metros or buses. [To enter a metro train system, you can insert the ticket to open the entrance gate] [Paper tickets are expected to be replaced by smart cards in the near future]
The trip from Piraeus to Syntagma Square takes 35 ~ 45 minutes, and X80 Bus runs about every 35 minutes.
The last bust stop, Syntagma Square Stop, is close to McDonald's at the entrance to Plaka shopping district.
