The large wildlife enclosure (Tier-Freigelände) lets you walk among free-roaming wolves, lynx, bears, and bison on a 3 km loop trail — perfect for all ages and totally free with the activity card. Afterwards hike the short Waldgeschichtspfad nature trail nearby. 🌧️ Bad weather: the Hans-Eisenmann-Haus has excellent indoor exhibitions about the forest ecosystem — easily fills 2 hours.

Kids of all ages love the spiral ramp and views over the forest canopy. The circular route is pushchair-friendly and takes about 90 min at a relaxed pace. Combine with lunch at the Baumwipfelpfad bistro. 🌧️ Bad weather: the treetop path is open in light rain — bring ponchos. In heavy rain, head to Haus zur Wildnis (Ludwigsthal) instead.
