Mainland bus station closest to langkawi island is called Kuala Perlis, from there can get a direct bus to Kuala Besut (close to the jetty where you get a boat to perhentian islands)
Bus costs around RM 52 (18 NZD) and takes 10 hours
Round trip boat ticket costs around 50MYR (barter down from 70)
Flight from KBR to BKI booked on 30/03 at 20:35 (need to get a ferry to Kuala Besut then a bus to Kota Bharu airport. Both will take around 2.5 hours)
NO ATMS ON THESE ISLANDS - bring mostly cash as 9/10 places only accept cash - very very old school lots of places limited internet or electricity
