As others have said, you haven't really given enough detail for us to give you a perfect answer.
That said, the top voted answer is giving you a bunch of really great resturuants that are popular among people who live in LA and care about food a lot.
Here's some broader suggestions, especially keeping in mind that you're not just new to LA, you're new to the United States.
What LA Is Best At
Mexican Food - Holbox is the current "hot" mexican place. Sonoratown is also really popular on this subreddit, it just doesn't get rec'ed as much because it seems obvious to us.
But there are some great trucks that serve tacos and burritos, and I would consider that experience must-try for LA. Others can give good suggestions, but Leo's on La Brea and Venice is an easy recommend for me.
Korean Food - LA has some of the best Korean food in the world. Try Soowoon, Aghassi, BCD Tofu House, Surawon, Mapo Galbi, Seongbukdong, Parks, Jinsol gukbap, Yuchun, Kobawoo House, Lee Ga, Han Bat Sul Lung Tang, or any Soon Tofu or KBBQ restaurant that has great reviews.
Sushi - Outside of Japan, some of the best sushi in the world can be found in Los Angeles. Popular recommendations include Nobu, Brothers Sushi, Urusawa, Masakazu, Hama Sushi, or for something really easy, Sugarfish.
Chinese Food - a bit of a drive to the east of LA will take you to the San Gabriel Valley area, which is home to many Chinese folks and many wonderful chinese restaurants, including Dim Sum where food is brought from table to table on carts. Popular locations include Atlantic Seafood, Lunasia, NBC, and Bistro 1968.
Fusion - A personal favorite of mine, something like Korean-Mexican Fusion at one of the Kogi trucks is a uniquely LA experience. Other fun places include Oy Bar, Escala, or even (arguably) something like Spago.
Fine Dining - LA is arguably a world city, so we have some Michelin Stars within our borders. Find a good list here. Also check out a list of our recent James Beard Award Finalists, here.
Armenian/Mediterranean - Glendale is full of Mediterranean expats, and there are some great places to eat that style of food here. My list from another recent thread is: Mini Kebab, Tava House, Grillers, Khinkali House, Tasty Yerevan, Aiden's Grill, Herand's Kitchen, Skaf's Lebanese, Raffi's Place, and Carousel.
Deli - The capital of US Deli Food is definitely New York City, but LA has a few places that can hang. The #19 at Langers might be the best meal you can get in this city. Also try Wexlers and Brent's for a pastrami sandwich on rye bread. Or, for slightly less-good food in a very fun experience, try Canter's Deli, open all night.
Thai - Anajak, Jitlada, Love2EatThai, Night + Market, Pailin Thai.
Cuban - Simplest recommendation is to just go to one of the many Porto's. Get Potato Balls, Guava Cheese pastry, and a Cubano sandwich.
Filipino - Kuya Lord, LA Rose, Dollar Hits, or Jollibee
Some LA Institutions - Musso & Frank Grill, Canter's, Philippe the Original, Lawry’s the Prime Rib, Porto's, Norm's and Bob's Big boy

LA might not be known as the "best" place to get the following things in the United States, but if you're here from India, these are American things that we do very well in Los Angeles, even if we are not known as the "BEST" place to get them in the entire country.
Hamburgers - An easy recommend is the Double Double burger at one of our many In-N-Out locations, the most iconic LA burger. Other easy recs are Heavy Handed, Apple Pan, Hiho, Father's Office, Original Tommy's (chain), and Pie'n'Burger.
Pizza - In the US, most folks say our best pizza comes from the east coast or big cities of the midwest. But there are good spots around town. Pizzeria Mozza is very "los angeles." Appolonia, Pizzeria Sei, and Quarter Sheets get recommended a lot. Try Doughbox for the thick, saucy pizza made popular by our friends over in Chicago.
BBQ - One of America's best inventions, there is some pretty damn good BBQ in LA. Do we rise to the level of the biggest BBQ cities in our country? No. But if you've never had real BBQ before, you're in for a treat anyhow. I like Moo's Craft and Bludsoe's. Also try Slab.
Italian Style Sandwiches - Another American staple. Try Bay Cities, All About The Bread, Cosa Buona, or Ggiata.
