Waterford isn't a county I see mentioned often here on people's itineraries (or maybe I don't see the posts!) but it's a place you have to stop at if you want to see some real hidden gems here in Ireland. In the coming months the beautiful Lismore Castle grounds will be in bloom - the wildflowers there are amazing! Nearby is Ballysaggartmore Towers, Cappoquin House, Tourin House, Dromana Gate, Curraghmore Estate and De la Poer Tower. These are perfect stops for those who love old houses, gardens, history and castles.
You can read more about Lismore Castle and it's wildflowers here for anyone interested - https://www.dollydowsie.com/2022/07/16/wildflowers-at-lismore-castle-in-summer/
Sharing some pictures form my own travels for inspiration for anyone wanting to see something a bit different from the usual tourist sites.
