Take SH8, but I stead of turning right over the bridge to Cromwell, continue on for a couple of hundred metres to the lookout on the right. Wonderful views there of Cromwell and Cornish point...then turn back to the bridge.

Glow worms: well at the Southern End (Haast End) there is a Walking Track and about 10mins in you'll see them, YUP Free..

Okarito is cool for half day and getting into the quieter water ways. Very different experiences

In Marlborough try to make some appointments for tastings, if possible then I would highly recommend Greywacke (it's only by appointment) Kevin Judd the winemaker that built up Cloudy Bay and then started his own label. Highly recommended. There are also a lot of other great places (other than the big labels) such as Framinghams, Hans Herzog
