Plan on arriving afternoon/evening. Crash that night. Get up in morning look around. Night. Same next day. Then after 3rd night get up early in morning to head to Paris on train.

Arrive in on train from London - check in early if can to drop off bags. Spend afternoon looking around. Night, then next day check out key sites. After 2nd night up early and train to Caen.

Use Caen as base to explore some of the WWI and II sites. May be to south for WWII - more research is needed. Conscious of lot of tours etc being Americanised (and expensive - US dollars). Maybe rental car and look round ourselves.
