The Polar Night Light Festival 2026 in Ruka, Finland, is scheduled to take place from January 9 to February 2, 2026 . 
This annual event transforms Ruka Ski Resort into a luminous winter wonderland, featuring light installations that illuminate the ski slopes and surrounding areas. The festival is free to attend; however, a lift ticket is required to access the light displays on the slopes . 
Highlights of the festival include the Torchlight Ski Parade, held every Friday at 7:00 PM on the Kuru slope. Skiers with a lift pass can participate by picking up torches placed along the slope and returning them after their descent .
