Book the glacier mini trek tour in the afternoon. The car will allow you to be
on your own schedule without buses.
You could get to the Moreno main board walk areas early in the morning walk
around and then do the tour in the afternoon.
Just be warned. Doing both in one day would be multiple hours of walking which
may be too much for some people.
With a car, in the El Calafate area you could also visit:
- Walichu caves
- Glaciarium
- Laguna Nimez (also possible without a car)
If you want to do the 1-hour boat tour (Southern Spirit) at the glacier, I
suggest booking it in advance. Last week we thought we would just buy tickets on
the spot, but they were sold out, even though the 'true' high season hadn't
started yet.
