Hanoi, Vietnam
25th/26th June 2023
The first part of this day was spent getting no sleep on the 12 hou plane
journey due to a couple of broken backs, we did however get 2 free meals and
drinks,
The second part of this day was spent trying to check in to central backpackers
hostel. We dropped our bags off at 7am and couldnt check in till 2 ao we went to
go look around, it was absolutely tipping it down.
Eventually, we settled on a hostel and both brought an egg coffee, one of the
tastiest things i have ever had! It was like drinking a tirimasu.
After this we went to the coffee place next door and got another egg coffee and
a juice.
We then went on a mission to get some scran which is where i had my forst "pork
bread" which was basically a pulled pork sandwich, which was peng.
Feeling sleep deprived and knowing we couldnt check in until 2, we then went on
an adventure through hanoi. We visited the lake, withdrew some cash and went to
the prison museum, whilst stopping off for regular coffees. We also went to the
place where a train passes loads of little coffee shops, and got kicked out
because we didnt buy a coffee.
We also stumbled on a shopping mall which was for top teir brands only - we had
our first shit in 5 meals here.
After this it was about 12am and we were physically drained. We needed to kill
time whilst chilling and im afraid to say we decided to do this in mcdonalds :(.
After a tough 45 minutes and the locals taking pictures of us in here, we
decided to fuck the hostel off and buy a hotel.
And after trecking to it and to the opposite side of town and then back to the
right location, we arrived. Got inside and napped till 7. We then went out and
found some food. This was found after about a minute of searching, it was a sode
street where they bring out a stove and meats and you cook your food. It was
incredible and cost about £5 including 2 beers, as if! We then went to the beer
street where we decided we should spend the next night. After a beer here we
went back to the hotel and slept in bits till 10:30am
