Need to contact hotel to let them know we are coming in the night at 5AM. Looks like a $20ish night bus is the way to go with this but there are slower day bus options as well.
Seems like the nicest beach in Peru. Not much else of note (apparently avoid the swimming with turtles as it's super unethical). There's a few party hostels if we need that. There might be some mud baths which could be fun and potentially whale watching if we want to do that again.

8/9hr day bus for same price maybe cheaper.
Should try to go some hikes for acclimatization like Laguna Churup then go for Laguna 69. Potentially also doing a mounting climbing day tour for approx $60 in total. The Santa Cruz multi Day sound okay but nothing amazing and it would involve camping for 3 nights which might be too much for us.

Same type of 8hr day bus up till 12:30 potentially overnight if we want to.
Standard capital city fare. Walking tour. Might be nice to do a food tour as it's been a while. We could swim with sea lions near the palomino islands. Kennedy park is good to vibe with cats and there's plenty of street art to wander round and snap photos of.

Fly early on the 13th and spend day in town. Do tour on 14-17th then leave on the 18th.
Main focus is a multi Day tour but outside of thay we can explore the town for a day and any smaller activities but wouldn't want more than one day outside of the tour.

Tour of Islas Ballestas is a must. Potentially another thing we could do is an atv tour of the desert for £8 ish. Most likely possible to do in a day if we are keen. Nazca lines are here and if possible I would like to see them but the cost might be too much.

oasis in the desert. Sand boarding could be fun here as well as dune buggy driving if it's economical. Maybe go for a nighttime desert wander outside the town as it's so close.

Get a 10 min taxi to Ica then night bus to Cuzco as it's a 15 hour journey. Maybe check other options for travel if needed.

Yeah it's got activities we can do to acclimatise like chocolate making, San Pedro Market and San Blas neighborhood wandering. Some ruins in the city but maybe worth a free walking tour to learn the history.
Rainbow mountin is noted as better with a guide but not impossible to do solo. There is also a tourist ticket for many of the main visiting sites but we may or may not want to do them if we are going to Machu Picchu already.

colca canyon hike
Colca canyon could be solo organised but it's also not super expensive to do with a tour so we can decide closer to the date. White water rafting is popular here as well. There's obviously a lot of city activities to do as well, cathedrals markets and the like. Unsure how keen we will be to do all that kind of stuff. There's an alpaca petting zoo if we haven't had our fix of alpacas by that point.

Island hopping tour sounds like the best way to spend a day here. There are also some ruins on some of the islands but they might be far away to get to from Puno.
