might be worth booking hostel/ place to stay because quite spenny, around £90 for 3 nights.
Hostel Cruz del Sur has been recommended.
books flights in person when we first arrive in Buenos Aires- should be around £50 for a 3h30 flight seen people say you can get away without paying for baggage with flybondi.
Best exchange is at Status Casino
Apparently, you can get good last-minute deals to the Arctic...
you have to get ubers to some of the hikes so might be worth being in a hostel so we can share that cost?
parquedel fin del mundo
Martial glacier - 3 hour there and back hike, have to get an uber out of town- v beautiful - easy hike.
steam train not worth it
there is the end of the world post office - quite cool- postal del fin del mundo - costs around £10 tho to send off but at the end of a hike
Hike to glacier vinciguerra.

i think we should get this bus https://www.busbud.com/en/bus-schedules-results/a66a7ee7-9c37-4660-a5f6-a82f3516da12/18cf9b43-be32-49ae-a79d-9c94dd468dcd?outbound_date=2026-03-05&adults=1&leg_card_id=30f398cc-13e6-4f8f-92a7-0234d61afc57232309413512026-03-05T06%253A30%253A00-03%253A002026-03-05T09%253A30%253A00-03%253A00&view=ticket_options - i think it is from the right end that we are doing it but lets check!

El Calafate, Argentina
3-6 hours + from torres del paine $25
town bit sleepy and expensive but you can rent a bike and go for a ride along the edge of the lake and admire the incredible natural beauty of the area.
perito moreno glacier!!!!!!!!!!!!! $45,00 ARS/$31 to get into the national park- can pay card but apparently good to get pesos out incase it goes down. The park is 75 kilometres west of El Calafate. 90-minute drive. Buses tickets are around $40 USD return and can be bought from most hostels or hotels, or at any of the travel agencies along the high street of El Calafate. The easiest way is to go directly to the two companies’ offices (both are located on Avenida San Martin) or to the main bus terminal (Address: Jean Mermoz 104) where you can compare the times and prices. just get bus instead of tour CalTur and Chaltén Travel are the two bus companies that operate this route; bus timetables can be found on their websites. 7:30am-7:30pm.
Can hire a car for $85 USD... so plus petrol - depends how much it will be. A day’s rental will be around $85 USD, depending on the driver and the car. You do not need an international licence to rent a car in Argentina but you do need a valid driver’s license and credit card.
Be sure to ask about the availability of petrol before renting a car. Sometimes El Calafate has shortages due to the petrol having to be driven down from the north.
While the car will come with a full tank, if you can’t fill it back up before you return it, the rental agency will charge you a huge fee. OR we hitchhike.
Everything here is expensive due to its popularity and remoteness
