Lisbon, Portugal
During the day:
*Alfama* (is the most typical neighbourhood in Lisbon), be prepared to climb
hills though
- near Alfama you have Castelo de S. Jorge
- several viewpoints there, you just gotta explore (Miradouro de Santa Luzia is
a personal fav)
- if you’d like you can ride the tram 28 which goes along the streets in Alfama,
idk how much it is and have never done it but i’ve heard it’s nice (you can
catch it at Martim Moniz square)
- Alfama is also where you’ll find cheap(er) food ;)
Speaking of which, if you wanna try Pastel de Nata go to Manteigaria. When you
come down from Alfama, come down from the street that follows Miradouro de Santa
Luzia, because it will lead you through the way that one of the little yellow
trams come from and it’s genuinely beautiful to see the street and the tram up
and down ahah i’m a sucker for this street, also it leads you to:
Praça do Comércio, a big square near the Tagus river. If you’re here for an
afternoon snack, or breakfast… or *anytime*, go to Manteigaria and get a pastel
de nata- they’re hands down the best ones! Also you can see them making them!
Exploring Praça do Comercio is cool because the streets are very nice (the one
that leads to the pastel de nata place for instance xD)
if you catch a good day, and want a sunset view: Miradouro de S. Pedro de
Alcantara, or just stay by the river, it’s really nice there (also really close
to Bairro Alto)
close by you have the Elevador de Santa Justa, it’s a lift that goes up the
streets, honestly imo it’s overpriced and you need to wait in a queue full of
tourists, so i’d just go up the stairs ahahha
if you wanna go out at night, go to Bairro Alto for sure, during the day it’s
also nice with its cafes (although a bit gentrified) but during the night this
is really where everyone goes for drinks in the bars and such. also there’s cool
street art around

Belém, this is on the opposite side but very worth a visit. you have Belem Tower
which is nice (not worth going inside tho, overpriced)
in Belém people will try to say that Pastéis de Belém are better than Pastéis de
Nata (that. is. not. true. but you can try and let me know your opinion dhsjsjsj
)
Jerónimos Monastery, it’s a unesco place and it’s nice, personally i really like
it and entering the church was free when i went idk now
you’ll prob come across it but there’s this big monument around with a boat and
sailors, well that’s a symbol of colonialism so it’s not a recommendation but so
you know what it is lol bc for sure you’ll see it
don’t use up all of your time in this part of lisbon though, because there’s a
lot more to do. enjoy more time downtown (Baixa de Lisboa); explore Rossio
Square, and Chiado! Chiado is an amazing neighbourhood. if you have time go to a
Fado house and listen to a little bit of Fado (portuguese typical music genre)
IF YOU HAD A THIRD DAY (and want to trade Porto for an extra day in Lisbon :b)
- Sintra, spending the day in Sintra full of palaces and magical places,
forests, fairy tale like places fr, really nice :) and Sintra itself is such a
lovely city too, with good food :D
