Bezau, Austria
Drive southeast into the Bregenzerwald, a region famous for its distinct blend of modern and traditional wooden architecture and its historical cheese-making culture. Head to the town of Bezau and take the Seilbahn Bezau (cable car) up to the Baumgarten station. At the top, you get sweeping panoramic views of Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps.
After coming down, meander through the valley along the Käsestrasse (Cheese Road). Stop at a local village dairy or a traditional inn for lunch/snack.
On the way back toward the Airbnb, stop in Feldkirch, a beautifully preserved medieval town nestled in a narrow valley right on the border of Liechtenstein. Walk through the arched, vaulted passageways of the Old Town (Altstadt) and wander up to Schattenburg Castle, which looms over the town and offers fantastic views from its grounds.
