Cebu City, Philippines
Don’t stay in Cebu if you don’t need to. If you do have to, stay by the airport or by a big shopping centre.
Give a long time to get to/from the airport in or around rush hour. Took an hour and a half in rush hour for me! (Meant to be 30 mins)
-
Moalboal, Philippines
- Canyoneering (£35 inc. a zip wire trip)
- Sardine run (£10 I think or you can just hire a snorkel and do it urself)
- Oslob - swim with whale sharks (not very ethical) (£30-40 I think)
- Visit waterfalls (the tours for this are expensive so just hire a scooter and drive to them)
Travel:
Bus from Cebu £3 (4hrs) - can only be purchased from the bus terminal
Going back to Cebu, we just got on a bus at Moalboal bus terminal and paid on the bus.
Stay on Panagsama Rd - the end closest to the sea
Recommend 2-3 nights depending on what you do
-
Puerto Princesa, Philippines
Boat trip to find and swim with whale sharks (more ethical than Oslob). Check the season bc we missed this as it was out of season. (£30-£40 I think)
We only stayed here overnight after a flight and then got a bus to El Nido in the morning.
Travel:
Flew from Cebu to Puerto Princesa Airport as it’s cheaper than flying to El Nido
1 night is probs enough to do the tour
-
El Nido, Philippines
- Boat trip (we did boat trip A) £23
- Zip wire to island (we only did one way) £7.50
Travel:
5 hr mini bus from Puerto Princesa - book online
Recommend 3 nights
-
Siargao Island, Philippines
Surfing island
People usually stay here for a while. We didn’t manage to explore much of the island (we stayed in General Luna) bc it was raining but is a really nice, chilled place. Loads of restaurants, bars, cafes and surf/gift shops.
Travel:
Fly into Siargao Airport and there will be shared vans at the airport. Should be P300 per person (£4.50).
Definitely hire a scooter here.
If you have the time, 5 nights was a nice amount of time.
