Route from Marrakech to Ouazarzata:
Take the N9 road towards the Toufliht Forest. On the road, you will come across breathtaking landscapes and you will discover an authentic rural region of Morocco. Then continue south, still on the N9 road. You will reach the Tizi N'Tichka pass, considered one of the most impressive roads in the kingdom. After through this pass, you will have less than an hour and a half (approximately) left before arriving at Ouarzazate.
Our first stop along the route was at the base of the Atlas Mountains, in the small Restaurant Ard Salam. An hour outside Marrakech, we were treated to nice, cheap coffee, stunning views of greenery, and traditional Moroccan architecture. In the small shop we stocked up on the necessities for the drive ahead, and set off for the climb up the mountain.
The next part of the drive was simply incredible. Climbing higher and higher up the famous Atlas Mountains, we made our way through tiny, impossible communities, welcoming villages, Moroccan pottery shops, and the most picturesque of landscapes. The road from Marrakech to Ouarzazate takes you over one of the most famous Atlas Mountain passes; the Tizi N’ Tichka. At the summit there is a small collection of shops and landscapes worth braving the astonishing drop in temperature and icy wind, however we found the shop owners far too pushy and ended up getting back into the car before looking at any of their wares.
As we began the descent, we stopped at another sweet little restaurant called Agul Mous where the temperature was more bearable and had another of our favourite mint teas, and it seemed a popular little place for those travelling across the mountains to stop. The journey down the mountain was equally as interesting as the ascent, and the mountain seems to act as a natural break from a lusher greener North to a sandier, clay South.

Head north and further into the Dades Valley for about 5 minutes until you find the Auberge Kasbah Ait Marghad. We were able to park here for free.
Note: You can see there’s a dirt road heading down just on the other side of the hotel sign. Don’t drive down there! Park up at the main road.

—We will meet at “RIAD DESERT CAMEL”,where you will have a private and safe place for parking ,if you come by bus please text us 24hours before arrival, then we will meet at the bus station
—the price on booking.com is for accommodation and halfboard.the way from parking to camp you can choose according to your preferances and arrival time
To Go and back from PARKING TO DESERT(Our camp is in a remote place in the desert Far from the town of Merzouga ,camel ride for single way 2hours, 4*4jeep single way 0.5hour,if you come by your own 4*4Car which can go through the desert you can use your own car but it is mandatory to take a guide or assistance for safety. The guide costs 50 euros round trip, and assistance costs 80 euros round trip. ,otherwise you will have three options with price as below:)
◆Transfer Camel ride go and back 30 euro/person
◆Transfer 4*4 jeep safari go and back 30euro/person
◆Transfer Camel ride go and 4*4jeep back or 4*4jeep go and camel trekking back 40euro/person
If you choose go by camel, the luggages will be transported to camp via 4*4 car,so please let us know the estimated arrival time and your activities choice, then we will arrange everything for you.
—There are some other add-on activities you can enjoy if arrive very early or have two days in the desert
● Quad single 40euro/person/hour, Quad double 60euro/two persons/hour
● one Buggy for one hour tour 130euro/hour(one buggy can use by 1-2persons)
● lunch 15euro/person(if you arrive early or stay one more day,lunch maybe needed )
● sandboarding for free if you need you can use it when you are in the camp.
About the arrival time:if you want do camel trekking during sunset please arrive at least 2.5hours before sunset,if you choose go by 4*4jeep please arrive at least 1-1.5hour before sunset,then you will have more time enjoy the desert and sunset.

A slight detour off our route took us to the famous Kasbah Aït Benhaddou. With constructions dating back to the 17th Century, the UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most well-known and typical examples of early Moroccan architecture. The ksar has been used as a backdrop for a number of films including Gladiator and The Mummy, as well as more recently in the Game of Thrones series. For the cost of 5 MAD (around 40p) you can park in a close car park in the village, and head past a few small shops to view the famous dwellings from a fantastic vantage point across the river. In one of these small shops we were taught from a fantastic shopkeeper the traditional way of tying a headscarf, which we purchased to take on our journey to the Sahara
