Social events are quite rare on Koh Kood. However, there is daily live music at Fisherman's Hut, a small night market in Klongchao, boat trips to neighbouring islands, the daily gathering of expats at Neverbar (beach bar of Peter Pan Resort) after 5.30pm etc. And in general, it's very easy to get in touch with people on Koh Kood, at least with the foreigners.
