Day 1: Welcome to beautiful Borneo! One of our friendly local team members will
meet you at the airport and transfer you to our awesome eco-lodge. Drop your
bags and chillax after your long flight, before meeting your travel fam this
evening over a welcome dinner in lively Kota Kinabalu city, followed by
sundowners on the waterfront! With an up-and- coming live music scene, busy
street food markets, and a host of bars and restaurants, it’s a great place to
kick off our Borneo adventure.
Day 2: We’re getting our culture on today at Mari Mari; the village so good they
named it twice! Nestled in the heart of the forest, a world away from the
bustling streets of Kota Kinabalu, the village is home to the three main tribes
of Sabah, and an amazing place to learn all about Borneo’s rich cultural
heritage. You’ll hear all about the island’s head-hunters, the villagers’
ancestors, and the high priestess of a tribe known as the Bobohizan. This
evening, head down to the front again for one of KK’s famous fiery sunsets,
before another night of beers and laughs with the gang.

Sepilok, Malaysia
Day 3: We’ve got an awesome day of wildlife watching on the cards as we leave
Kota Kinabalu behind and travel to Sepilok. Grab a window-seat and check out the
lush forest scenery and traditional villages as we drive. You’ll have a chance
to freshen up and take a dip in the pool before Next up we’ll pay a visit to the
Sun Bear Conservation Centre, to meet the world’s smallest species of bear. See
the 43 rescued bears in their forested enclosures and learn all about the
animals and the centre’s efforts to rehabilitate them.
Next we proceed to Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC). RDC is one of the most
accessible natural rainforest parks in Sabah. This rainforest park sits by a
lake at the edge of the Kabili- Sepilok Forest Reserve in Sandakan, a pristine
lowland dipterocarp and mangrove forest with astounding 300 species of birds are
recorded in the area. The main attraction is the Rainforest Skywalk, the longest
Canopy walkway in Sabah, 620 meters long and 25 meters high metal platforms and
walkway. A chance to have birds-eye view of the rainforest from the tree
canopies.
This evening, hang with your buddies in our epic jungle resort.
Day 4: We head to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to meet some of our
favourite primates today. The Centre cares for young orangutans orphaned as a
result of illegal logging and deforestation and those who have been illegally
caught and kept as pets. Watch the orangutans and their babies feeding, playing
and practicing their swinging from the viewing stalls. It doesn’t get much cuter
than this!

Kinabatangan River, Malaysia
Day4: This evening, we’ve got another treat in store for you today as we take a
wildlife safari on the mighty Kinabatangan River. You’re likely to see
orangutans, pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys and loads of different bird
species. It’s easy to see why Borneo is a world-famous wildlife destination.
After visiting the orangutans, we head to Kinabatangan River for another
unforgettable wildlife safari. Try spotting all the wildlife including pygmy
elephants, orangutans, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills and a
myriad of birds living in the region.
Day 5: Wake up to the sounds of gibbons calling through the jungle before
heading to Kundasang, Ranau. Kundasang is a charming hill station surrounded by
lush greenery, clear rivers, and mountain ranges. We’ll pay our respects at the
village’s war memorial and gardens, one of the first to commemorate the
Australian and British prisoners of war who died during the infamous
Sandakan-Ranu Death March. After learning about some of Borneo’s more tragic
historic events, we’ll sample some local rice wines and tuck into some authentic
street food at a local market.

Mount Kinabalu, Malaysia
Day 6: Strap on your walking boots and get ready for a day packed with
adventure! First up we’re going to explore Mount Kinabalu’s
hundred-million-year-old rainforest on a spectacular canopy treetop walk! It’s
an incredible way to get a bird’s eye view on the area’s pristine jungle. Next,
we’re headed to the highest waterfall in Sabah, the Langanan Waterfall. Soaring
100m above its pool, it’s an impressive sight, and a great selfie backdrop! Then
we’re taking a 3.5km trek through the jungle. It’s sweaty work but trust us it’s
worth it. You’ll want to refuel after all that walking so we’ll stop for a tasty
lunch to tank up. After a full day of trekking and adventure, enjoy the ultimate
relaxation sesh in a mineral-rich hot spring – lush!

Day 7: After an epic week of fun and adventure, we’re sure you’ll agree that
it’s about time to kick back and relax! You choose what form your relaxation
takes today, whether it’s hitting the local markets to sample some street food,
treating yourself to a massage, or doing some laid- back souvenir shopping in
Kota Kinabalu. Tonight, watch that epic KK sunset again with around of cocktails
for you and your buddies.

Gaya Island, Malaysia
Day 8: We’re heading underwater today with a snorkelling and diving expedition
on gorgeous Gaya Island. Hop on our speedboat and hold onto your hats as we take
the exhilarating ride across the ocean to the little island. Then spend your day
on a snorkel safarior try out a dive – it’s totally up to you! Swim with reef
sharks, nemo and maybe even a turtle or two! It’s like being in a real aquarium!
Sail back to Kota Kinabalu with the salt in your hair and a big smile on your
face.
