We arrive on the 12th night / 13th morning.
Sunday 13th: let’s chill, jet lag will hit probably. We will explore the city chill, enjoy South American night life, plastic table, cheaper beer and some music in the street (it will be the start of the national holiday week so people will already party)
Monday 14th —> let’s visit a little Santiago, visit the mountain in the middle of the city (called Cerro Sin Cristobal), visit some nice barrios. One thing that would be amazing is to go watch a football game of “Colo Colo” (some friends have ticket usually, I need to check with them)
For sleeping I will probably stay at Magda and I still need to check for you both

Valparaíso, Chile
Tuesday 15th —> take the bus to Valparaiso (2h from Santiago). It is a really nice station with the see (although not advised to go to the water there, historically used to be a big port). We can party there, it is also really poor so quite more dangerous, never had issues there but it is advised to be cautious). We would rent an Airbnb (not expensive) and enjoy some good food and a very rich historical city (not too big).
Wednesday 16th —> there is another city called “Vina Del Mar” to which we could commute during the day but I would not sleep there, there are not much things to do appart from sand skiing maybe !
Then we comeback at night to Valparaiso, we get drunk.
Thursday 17/08 —> we comeback to Santiago by bus.

Thursday we come back to Santiago as the parties will be even bigger for the national day (18th but they party the whole week). They usually do a lot of “asados” which are BBQ basically but they do it in parks , at home, etc. We will probably do smth more than one day with Magda’s friend and family. It also nice to do an asado with a Chilean family since it is their culture. Usually we eat a lot of meats and drink “terremoto”
Then Friday basically visit and partying, Saturday hungover
We will go eat a different places so that you discover topical food and enjoy the city
I also propose to do one hike one day since the city is surrounded by mountains !

Lima, Peru
Monday we arrive in Lima. I propose to stay there until the end of the afternoon to explore the city. It is not a must to see it but I feel like we should at least have a look one day if we are there
End of afternoon, we take the bus to the Peninsula de Paracas (4 hours hours from Lima and cost 13 euros)

A day in Paracas is enough to enjoy the natural beauty, sand skiing, buggy rides, and the stunning Pacific views. We could also go the the Ballestas Islands to see the penguins but tbh it is not that worth it I feel like.
I would maybe sleep here at night as well not to rush and leave in the next morning early.

Ica, Peru
Then we go to Ica (bus 2 hours 8,5 euros). The main highlight here is Huacachina, which is an oasis. we can also do dune buggy rides or sandboarding. I think we do not even have to stay here for the night especially because the next destination "Arequipa" is 14 hours by bus.
One important thing to know is that buses in South America are really comfy (usually called semi-cama which means half-bed) so spending the night in the bus is easily feasible and we can have a good rest (+ saving money on accommodation)
So I propose to leave the town at night by bus to arrive in the morning at Arequipa which cost 21 euros

Arequipa, Peru
Arequipa is one of Peru’s most charming cities.
the first day I would explore the city chill since we will arrive in the morning. We can explore the Santa Catalina Monastery, and the Plaza de Armas
Then, use the second day to go on the Colca Canyon trek (which usually takes around 8 hours).
At night I would take another bus to go to Puno (10 hours bus which cost 23 euros from Arequipa)

We would arrive in the morning and visit Lake Titicaca and the islands (Isla Amantani + Isla de los Uros). Then I would already take another bus at night since reaching Cuzco takes 8 hours. the thing is that 2 nights in a raw in a bus is a bit brutal but it depends the type of trips we want (rushing some part to see the most or skipping some part but being more chill).

Arrive in the morning after taking the night bus from Puno.
Cusco is the gateway to many Incan sites. This is the main point for a lot of trip
Day 1: Arrive in Cusco and take it easy to acclimatize to the altitude. Explore the city, including the Plaza de Armas, Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), and the Sacsayhuamán ruins. Take a stroll in San Blas neighborhood or relax in a local café.
Day 2 Machu Picchu (Wayna Picchu or Huayna Picchu)
Day 3 Montaña 7 Colores (Rainbow Mountain)
Day 4 Sacred Valley, Laguna Humantay (if you want to hike) + Travel to Aguas Calientes
