Really fun day. Idk how actually ethical it was but it was a great experience. Bamboo rafting down the river. Funny. They tried to load 4 of us on to a raft and it started sinking we couldn’t help but laugh
We accidentally went to Michelin star restaurant House by Ginger for food as it was a holiday (start of Buddhist lent) so not everywhere was open. It was so good I got dumplings and soup.

Sticky waterfalls and dantewada
We went to dantewada first. Stunning but very busy and had to wait loads for pics. Sticky waterfalls were fun but again very busy as it was still a national holiday.
Food at Anne’s. I got a deep dish pizza and New York slice. Soooo good. The colour was from their own blend of rice flour, rice berry, tapioca starch and potato starch.
We also went to the gym as it felt much needed!

Breakfast at Blue diamond again. I got the pancakes this time which were yummyyyyy
Zip line at Asias highest and longest zip line King Kong. And it rained the wholeeeee time. Annoying but it was all so fun still.
It then rained the whole rest of the day so we got food right beside us at Casa-an Italian restaurant which was cute. I got a spicy sausage pasta and we got mozzarella to start.

Off to Pai! Our bus was almost an hour late but journey was actually fine!

Did a tour of Pai in the boiling heat with 2 Irish girls , 2 English girls and Diego from Chile
Saw the white Buddha which was under construction, Yun Lai viewpoint, Chinese village, swam in Pam Bok waterfall, saw the Bamboo bridge and went to Pai canyon for sunset ( but there was no sunset 🥲)
Went to Nong Beer restaurant for food ( I got the curry which was quite spicy)

Went to Soul again for breakfast
Didn’t feel very well, I think too much sun, and had a v chill day and finished Dept Q (series)

Back to Chiang Mai again on the bus! Watched a different series

Back for 1 night only! We finally got to It’s Good kitchen, and it was good! I got the sweet and sour chicken
Then stopped in So Frikkin Good cafe. I didn’t think there would be anything gluten free but there was a creme brûlée and it was fabulous, she also gave us a shot of carrot juice and water on the house
We went back to Santana for dinner and it was unreal as remembered! We definitely got too much food but it was great!

Got breakfast at Gravity in Chiang Mai. I just got a smoothie bowl it was ok.
Got the bus to Chiang Rai and it was actually was worse than the bus to Pai??? Idk if it’s because I hadn’t managed my expectations but it was longggg almost 4 hours
Got to our Air BnB which was lovely but a bit out of town
For a Grab in to town for food. Got dropped off at the clock tower and walked down to India in Chiang Rai - a new Indian opened. It was delish, we ate so much. My fav were the chickpea shawarma pancakes!
We went to a temple in town and saw a man trying to steal a pickup!
Friday
Went to the White and Blue temples. We just got Grabs to them. The White temple was unreal! Blue okay. Got a melon smoothie at a place at the white temple.
Went to Barrab for food. Sooo good and the lady was so knowledgeable.
It started pouring down so we just had to go for a massage then. Not as good as our first one but was ok.
Went to a gym, it was small and sooo warm.
Then went to hungry wolf for food. I got a gluten free pizza which was ok but very sickening. Wish I’d just got margarita instead. We also had 2 brother toffee apple ciders each. This bill was the biggest we had so far!

Got a grab to Chiang Khong. When he got to us he asked for 1400 rather than 1100 to cancel on the app because he wouldn’t get all of it which was fair.

Went for food at a local place. They weren’t big fans of foreigners. Asked for a dish with no soy sauce, but still felt unwell after.

Up to get collected for the boat at 7.20am!
Got through the Thailand - Laos borders with no difficulty. 40bhat to process and 40 usdollars for visa.
Then got the boat to Pak Beng. Lunch all included on boat. We visited a little village and bought noodles to give out to the villagers.

Stayed at the Sanctuary hotel which was stunning. The bed was unreal! Amazing view of the river and the elephant park opposite.
Went for food at Saibadee (hello in Lao). The boy serving us didn’t understand about gluten. I just ordered a curry but when La the tour guide came, he said there is oyster sauce in it. Had to order another dish with no sauces. Greg got to eat 2 dinners
We went for a drink at hive bar, but I really didn’t feel well so went back to the hotel after 1 and took a migraine tab and had a cry 😢
Woke up the next day and had fried rice for breakfast!
Saw an elephant at the elephant park.

Had lunch which was not as safe as the day before so I got had loads of rice and veg…
Stopped at a cave after lunch and learned about the different Buddhas for the different days of the week! Saturday is considered the best day to be born, as they are good talkers and negotiators! The Saturday Buddha is the one with 7 headed snakes behind them!
Stopped at another village and tried some local alcohol made of rice - essentially a red and white wine, both very sweet, and then a 50% whiskey essentially poitin! Burned the whole way down. We bought all 3 but will probs send home.
Got to Luang Prabang and made friends with another Irish couple. Met for food at Yuni Yupoun. I got with gf noodles.
Found out that Mollie is also gf and has ulcerative colitis!

I was so ill. We were supposed to go to the waterfalls but couldn’t go so lost out on 10 USD each.
I lay in bed all day between getting sick and others. Greg got a haircut.

Ate at Vimans (only red curry for gf) Greg got a schnitzel. Food was nice and the owner was lovely - grew up in Germany and good knowledge of dietary requirements

Tried to have breakfast at hotel - the menu said they were rice noodles so I asked for without sauces - came out with instant egg noodles. Staff were unhappy when I didn’t eat, but I asked to see the packet. They said they would cook me something else but we were leaving for the buggy.
Got the buggy and went to lagoon 4 and 3. Really fun. It rained the whole time but we were wet anyway and the lagoons were so quiet.
Went to 7haven for food. Chef asked what I could or couldn’t eat and made me a plain pad Thai which was tasty enough.
Rained heavily the rest of the day
Went to an Indian for dinner but wasn’t overly hungry
Went to go to Gary’s Irish bar but it was packed so went to Sakura bar which was completely empty. Got 2 cocktails which tasted awful so I didnt drink
Walked home with a plastic bag over my head because taxis really hard to get
