Take RegioJet or FlixBus from Prague to Krakow (~7 hrs, very scenic and cheap). The Krakow Card covers public transport and free/discounted entry to 40+ museums — a fantastic deal for sightseers. Don't miss Wawel Castle, the Jewish Kazimierz district, and a day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau (free entry, book in advance). For food, eat at the Stary Kleparz market for fresh local produce, try zapiekanka (open-face baguette) at Plac Nowy for €2, and sit down for a full Polish meal (żurek soup, pierogi, bigos) at a milk bar (bar mleczny) for under €5 — these are subsidised local canteens, absolutely authentic.

Warsaw, Poland
Take a PKP Intercity train from Krakow to Warsaw (2.5 hrs, very comfortable and cheap if booked in advance — around €10-15). Arrive July 26th giving you 27th as a full day before your morning departure on 28th. The Warsaw City Card offers transport and museum discounts; PhD/teacher ID gets you reduced or free entry at the Warsaw Rising Museum, POLIN Museum of Polish Jews, and the National Museum — some are completely free on certain days. Grab street food at Hala Mirowska market, try zapiekanka or a bowl of żurek, and explore the beautifully reconstructed Old Town (UNESCO site) and the hip Praga district across the Vistula river.
