It's near the Night Market in Phnom Penh. I would say, please plug Giant Ibis into Google Maps and they'll show you where the place is that buses depart from. 🙂 I took it to Siem Reap. If you want to go to Angkor Wat, there are tuk tuk drivers waiting there. If you can arrange a driver and price ahead of time, please do so.

o Siem Reap and it was pretty good. If you also do this, however, be careful. When you choose your "seat" you are actually choosing a "bed" and if you choose part of a double bed, you might have to spend 6 hours lying next to some stranger. 😛 😛 😛 Thankfully that didn't happen to me. Make sure you choose a single seat/bed, unless you are traveling with someone close to you. I would actually recommend a morning bus because you get amazing views of the Cambodian countryside and I do not think that seeing the sunrise over Angkor Watt is all that great. 😛 So taking Giant Ibis for $17 through their website is a very good option.

Hanoi- Halong Nihn Binh- plan https://www.facebook.com/groups/vietnamtravelguideofficial/permalink/684991197149747/e are sadly leaving Vietnam tomorrow after the most amazing time here. It was my second time and my husband’s first time and it reminded me why Vietnam is one of my favourite countries. I’ve put some tips below.
Hanoi: Stayed at Solaria Hotel near Hoan Kiem lake. The staff there are so lovely! I ate at Green Inn vegetarian restaurant which had great food and my husband really liked the food stall opposite which had fried duck. We did a little walking tour with H.Minh Nguyen and it was great- she is very nice and knows a lot of cool places! We loved Hanoi and just enjoyed walking around and drinking coffee. Would really recommend the water puppet theatre show by the lake- buy tickets at the box office on the day.
Halong Bay: we went on M’Gloria cruise 2 days, 1 night with pick up from Hanoi and drop off in Ning Binh. We booked with Hoang Xoan (Vietsail Tours) and she was so helpful and checked in with us too. The cruise was great and we were so lucky with the weather too. The transfers were seamless too. Enjoyed the kayaking and stunning scenery!
Ninh Binh: we stayed at Hidden Charm hotel and would recommend. Again, the staff were great and the rooms good. We particularly enjoyed the Hang Mua Viewpoint but you need to wear suitable footwear as it is really slippery going down. We also loved the Trang An boat trip and did route 2- absolutely beautiful! Bich Dong pagoda is stunning and we went early so had it all to ourselves.
Hoi An: we stayed at Rivertown Hoi An and loved it. There’s a common theme in Vietnam of warm hospitality and the staff were really great. We were picked up from the airport by Hoàng Minh who is just so lovely and friendly. He took us to Marble Mountain which we would really recommend! The caves are amazing! He then took us to Hoi An in his lovely car and it was great getting to know him.
My husband had suits made at Yaly and we enjoyed massages at Relaxy Spa (visited a few times). The food at Minh Viet vegetarian restaurant was incredible and we loved the cooking class too (included a bike trip to local market and vegetable patch/farm too). We also did a lantern making class with Lynn (search on google) and it was fabulous! In Hoi An, we loved the cao lau and the crispy pancakes.
HCMC: stayed at Silverland May hotel. Lovely rooftop pool and good central location. Loved the scooter tour (booked with Scooter Saigon Tour) and enjoyed visiting districts 3, 5, 10 and getting out of district 1. Loved visiting one of the oldest apartment block in HCMC and also the the temple of 10,000 Buddhas. Ate at Shamballa (food was great) plus stalls on the street!
Grab app is a must to get around and street food is really good. Get a SIM card when you arrive (or an esim from Airalo or similar). Bring mosquito repellant and good trainers/shoes. Cash is used a lot so bring money to exchange or use ATMs.
This was my second trip to Vietnam and have visited 45 countries- Vietnam comes out at number 1. The food, the people, the scenery and the culture make it such a beautiful country and one I will always come back to.
