From the entrance to Semuc Champey, you can choose to go directly to the baths (pozas in Spanish) or make the climb to Mirador Semuc Champey first. The hike to this viewpoint is fun to do as a first activity and immediately get a good introduction to this beautiful natural area. The beautiful river with its turquoise water terraces is a picture to behold from above. In the morning is not yet so hot and a lot less crowded so you might have the view all to yourself.

Tip: Bring a padlock because at the pools you have lockers that you can use to store your belongings for when you go swimming.

Temples to visit:
* The Grand Plaza - This is the heart of the ancient Maya city that used to be the place where ceremonies and activities were held.
* Temple I - Also called the Temple of the Great Jaguar. At 47 metres, it is not the tallest but it is the most iconic and impressive temple in the area. This temple became a monument to one of the empire's greatest rulers and where archaeologists found the most expensive treasure underneath.
* Temple II - Also known as the Temple of the Masks, is 38 metres high and one of the best renovated temples in the complex. It stands opposite Temple I and when you climb it, you have a great view of the Grand Plaza and Temple I.
* Temple IV - At 65 metres, this is the tallest structure in Tikal. You should not leave Tikal before climbing this temple and getting a glimpse of the ancient Mayan empire. As such, this is the best place to watch the sunrise or sunset.

El Pianista Trail
De El Pianista Trail is een bekende hike waarmee je aardig de hoogte in gaat, door het wolkendek heen. Je baant je een weg door een wild, dichtbegroeid regenwoud en hier zie je de jungle van Panama op zijn mooist.

Sugar and Spice Boquete – Dit is een gezellig cafe en bakkerij in één. Ze bakken zelf hun brood dus dat is altijd heerlijk vers. De menukaart is super uitgebreid met vlees, vis en vega opties.
Boquete Brewing Company – Leuk voor wanneer je in de avond gezellig een biertje wilt drinken. Ze hebben verschillende lokale bieren op de tap en heerlijke hamburgers van de grill vanuit een foodtruck. Er hangt een leuke sfeer en er is vaak livemuziek.
La Casa del Cafe – Perfect voor een koffiestop midden in het centrum van Boquete.
Tacos Rudos – Dit is een knus tentje met heerlijke taco’s.
Meye Bounore – Lekker lokaal eten voor een zachte prijs.
Tre Scalini Boquete – Perfect voor wanneer je zin hebt in Italiaans eten en een goed glas wijn.
The Fish House – Voor iedereen die gek is op vis is The Fish House een aanrader. Er hangt een ongedwongen sfeer en het is vriendelijk geprijsd.
