Lucys notes: * JR pass, defs get this really worth it as one trip can be up to
$300 so it's best to get an unlimited pass. I got mine from here
https://www.jrpass.com/ the 21 day pass, you can activate this whenever you want
so if your only wanting to use it for part of your trip you can save it up. You
get your little tickets at the train station before you depart. People are super
friendly and will always help you with directs etc. worked out to be $900 ish so
$40 a day approx. * Pocket Wi-Fi 100% need! These can be kinda expenny, I got my
friend in Japan to suss me one through a local Japanese site but if you don't
speak/read Japanese you will hella struggle. But these bad boys are amaze, you
just need to charge it up (lasts maybe 2 days) and it connects to all devices
and you have unlimited data. Check what unlimited data' means on your device
though because it can differ mine was like 10GB for 3 days and I was smashing
data on the trains watching Netflix etc. I paid approx. $50 for the whole month
for mine but I think a standard price is more like $200-$300. There is fall
Wi-Fi around too * Apps to have: 1. Klook - amazing discounts on heeeeaps of
thangs! 2. Navitime (Japan Travel- route, map, guide, JR, taxi, Wi-Fi) - A must
have, gives you GPS directions and exact routes and times for all public
transport Google translate- a lot of menus aren't in English * Accommodation:
1. I stayed in hostels/capsules - approx. $45 per night * Money: 1. Used cash
for everything, get it out at 7/11 stores just make sure you have the right card
for it and check the limits you can get out. The trip was way cheaper than I
thought it would be like maybe $4500 expenses over there for a month include JR
pass, all accommodation, 4 theme parks, food, shopping, activities etc. Tokyo
