Bako National Park, bring own food and drink, crocodiles in water
We got the first number 1 red bus from Kuching (opposite majestic riverside
hotel) at 7am (it was 1 ringgit per person). We shared a boat and paid 40
ringgit per person return (boat was 100 one way so if you can share between 5
people it is significantly cheaper). The entrance to the National park was 20
ringgit per person. The national park itself once you check in you receive a map
and you can take various routes of different times / lengths. We took route 3
and route 6.
Bako National Park
Second Trip to Bako. To see the proboscis monkeys. It's doable by bus or Grab.
1) get yourself to the Bako Jetty, by bus #1 that ply the Waterfront or Grab
(RM30)
2) Register QR code Before paying at the counter RM20 single day pass
3) Next counter. If there are min 4 pax, max 5 pax, pay RM200 for your own boat,
as it leaves immediately and return at your leisure, last boat 3pm
Or RM30 for the regular boat service. It goes when it is full
Upon reaching the Park, walk 500m to register at the ranger counter. Remember to
check yourself out when you are leaving. The helpful ranger will assist with
advice about the hiking trails.
