Brussels, Belgium
Brussels is sometimes slightly overlooked compared to some other European
capitals, but it has a lot to offer with its Parisian style and beautiful
architecture. It’s also a great jumping off point to explore other amazing
cities and towns in Belgium, like Flanders Fields and Bruges. Brussels is also
super accessible to the rest of Western Europe with Thalys rail services
connecting Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam amongst many others. Here’s my favourite
things to do in Brussels.

Cologne, Germany
We’re off to Cologne for a very short time and we’re in competition with the
other teams of bloggers: Shayla and Sid are off to Rotterdam and Revati and Jean
are off to Amsterdam. I’m pretty rapt we’re heading off to a destination that
I’ve never visited and the Thalys proves to be a super comfy and easy way to get
from Brussels to Cologne. We’re served breakfast on the train (check out how
much I rave about that in my Thalys review here) and we even have a bit of time
to stretch out, get some work done and enjoy the Thalys first class experience.

Paris, France
There are so many things to do in Montmartre, the beating bohemian heart of
Paris’ artistic roots. Nothing conjures up images of the artistic haven that
Paris used to be quite like this village in France’s capital city. France is a
wonderful country with so many great destinations that should be on your bucket
list, but it is hard to find a place that feels quite as special as Montmartre.
- Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel)
- The Louvre (Musée du Louvre)

Rotterdam, Netherlands
I wake up so excited to get out and about in Rotterdam this morning. I’ve been
reading up on how magnificent the architecture in this city is and how different
it is to Amsterdam, which is a quick, less than an hour train trip away. First
up is a little wander through the very unique hotel I’m staying in, which is a
co-working space, study area and student housing facility all in one. There are
cool quotes on the walls and the design is youthful and fresh – I’m probably on
the older end of the guests staying here, but it’s still simple and fun to be
here. Breakfast is a simple buffet with pastries and some cold charcuterie and
the bartender makes me one of the best lattes I’ve had since I arrived in
Europe.

Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam is such a delightful city. From the glorious grandeur of the Royal
Palace of Amsterdam to the unique dutch architecture, the historic canal ring
and the city’s love for great art – this is a beautiful place to visit at any
time of year. The Amsterdam City Pass (iAmsterdam Card) is a great way to make
the most of your stay in the city as it provides access to so many attractions
as well as free public transport within the CBD area.
