✅ Step-by-Step: From Terminal B to Manhattan
1. After you land / get your bags in Terminal B, follow the airport signs for “AirTrain / Rail-Link / NJ Transit / Amtrak”. In Terminal B, the AirTrain platform is on the Check-in (or above-gate) level. 
2. Board the AirTrain going to the “Rail Link / Airport Station” (sometimes labeled “EWR Rail Station” or “Newark Airport Rail Station”). The trip from Terminal B to that station takes roughly 7–9 minutes. 
3. At the rail-station stop, buy a ticket for NJ Transit to New York Penn Station (NY Penn). The ticket includes the AirTrain access fee (~US $8–9 depending on fare) plus the NJ Transit fare to NYC. 
4. Pass through the fare gate using that ticket, then go to the NJ Transit platform and catch a train heading to New York Penn — trains on the Northeast Corridor or North Jersey Coast Line with the “EWR / airplane icon” on the departure boards. 
5. The train ride from Newark Airport Rail Station to New York Penn takes about 25–30 minutes. Once you arrive in Midtown Manhattan (NY Penn), you can continue your journey by subway, taxi, rideshare, or walking.

• The AirTrain ride inside the airport (between terminals and the rail-link station) is free. 
• The ticket you buy at the rail-station covers both AirTrain + NJ Transit — keep that one ticket handy until you exit at NY Penn.
